Blindtek
Digital accessibility from the people who live it every day.
Making digital services usable by everyone
A website, an application or a document is not accessible because it ticks boxes: it is accessible because a blind or partially sighted person can use it on their own, without working around the tool. That is what Blindtek checks, explains and passes on.
We support companies, public bodies and software vendors across the whole chain: assessing what exists, bringing it into compliance, and building up the skills of the teams who maintain it.
Frédéric Cardin, founder
Frédéric Cardin founded Blindtek to put his experience of visual impairment at the service of organisations that want their tools to be genuinely usable. He works with a screen reader every day: the obstacles he finds at his clients’ he first ran into himself.
His approach rests on three principles:
- Start from real use, not just from the audit checklist.
- Explain the why, so that teams become self-sufficient.
- Propose fixes that can actually be applied, costed and prioritised.
Why it matters now
In France and across Europe, digital accessibility is no longer optional. The RGAA framework and the European Accessibility Act place concrete obligations on a growing number of organisations, with deadlines that keep getting closer.
Beyond the legal duty, an accessible service is a clearer, better structured and easier to maintain service — for all of your users.
